Restoration Works
A few years ago, a disaster put Whaley Bridge on the map. Toddbrook Reservoir broke its banks and residents raced against time to save the town before the rest of the spillway collapsed. The reservoir and the boat house are now undergoing a major restoration project, estimated to cost £12 million to £16 million, and there are many other projects in the pipeline.
We have previously completed several new-build dwellings in this town, along with numerous conversions and renovations. We also have several projects here which are in the early planning stages, one of which is proposing 100% affordable housing on the site. Despite the temporary closure of Toddbrook Reservoir, Whaley Bridge is still a hotspot for outdoor activities, and also offers a vibrant and busy community.

Local Amenities
Whaley Bridge has a real community feel about it, with plenty of village shops, bakeries, cafés, and pubs to enjoy. There are a couple of nurseries and primary schools in town and the most popular secondary schools nearby are New Mills or Chapel-en-le-Frith, both of which have good transport connections.
The town also hosts numerous events throughout the year. One of the most popular, Whaley Bridge Water Weekend (also known as W3), usually takes place on the second weekend of June and includes free canal boat rides and live music. Later in the year, you can enjoy a community firework display and lantern parade, the annual Christmas light switch-on, and even a visit from Father Christmas!
